Licensing

Original photography and video available for editorial, commercial, and documentary use.

Selected photographs and video footage from Marco’s existing work are available for licensing across editorial, broadcast, documentary, commercial, institutional, and creative projects.

The archive includes coverage of volcanic activity and natural phenomena in Iceland, together with work from Mount Etna, Stromboli, and other locations where material is available. Photography and footage can be licensed for news coverage, features, documentaries, educational projects, campaigns, exhibitions, and other professional uses.

Licensing is handled directly and case by case. Terms are based on the material requested and its intended use, including platforms, territory, duration, and distribution. Marco can also help identify suitable photographs or sequences when a client has a specific subject or brief in mind.

Licensing for professional use

Licensing is available for:

  • Editorial & News: newspapers, magazines, wire agencies, and online platforms
  • Documentary & Broadcast: television, film, and streaming productions
  • Commercial & Institutional: campaigns, tourism boards, educational projects, and institutional communication
  • Creative & Artistic: exhibitions, installations, album artwork, music videos, and other creative uses

Both still photography and video footage can be licensed, from a single editorial use to broader agreements covering several platforms or longer periods.

There are no fixed licensing packages. Each request is evaluated according to the material and intended use, so the rights and pricing reflect the actual scope of the project.

Licensing process

  1. Inquiry: Describe the project, intended use, and the photographs or footage you are looking for.
  2. Review: Marco confirms availability and provides the applicable usage terms and pricing.
  3. Delivery: Once agreed, the selected material is delivered together with the relevant captions, metadata, and licensing information.

Urgent editorial requests can be handled quickly when suitable material is already available. Longer term documentary, commercial, or institutional uses are discussed according to the requirements of the project.

  • Volcanic activity: eruptions, lava flows, volcanic landscapes, and related field activity in Iceland and Italy
  • Icelandic landscapes: glaciers, lava fields, coastlines, highlands, and remote interior regions
  • People and environment: researchers, responders, residents, and human presence within active or remote landscapes
  • Aerial and time lapse: stills and footage produced from the ground and by drone

Rights tailored to each project

Licensing terms depend on how the material will be used.

Typical factors include:

  • Type of use
  • Duration and territory
  • Quantity of material
  • Platforms and distribution

Rates are quoted once the intended use is clear. Where relevant, exclusivity or restrictions on additional licensing can also be discussed, subject to the availability and existing usage of the material.

Professional delivery and support

Licensed photographs can be supplied in high resolution formats suitable for publication and production. Video can be delivered in appropriate production formats, including original camera files where available.

Captions, metadata, and licensing documentation can be supplied with the selected material, including the rights granted, duration, territory, and permitted platforms where applicable.

For projects requiring newly commissioned photography or video rather than existing material, Marco’s Photography and Videography services provide the appropriate starting point.
