Licensing

Original photography and video available for editorial, commercial, and documentary use.

All photos and footage are available for licensed use across editorial, broadcast, and commercial projects.
Marco works directly with editors, producers, brands, and institutions who need accurate, timely visual material from Iceland and other active regions upon request.

He provides case specific licensing for photographs and video clips that document Icelandic volcanic activity, natural phenomena, and environmental stories, along with coverage from Etna, Stromboli, and other volcanic areas worldwide if requested. Material can be supplied for short news pieces, long form features, documentaries, educational projects, or campaigns that require precise context and reliable caption information.

Terms are defined individually so that each client receives the rights they actually need, with clear agreements on territory, language, platforms, duration, and usage type. This approach keeps pricing proportional to the scope of the project and avoids vague or overly broad rights. For complex productions, Marco can also help identify the most suitable sequences or stills for a given brief, making the clearance process faster and more focused.

Flexible rights for professional use

Licensing is available for:

  • Editorial & News: newspapers, magazines, wire agencies, and online platforms.
  • Documentary & Broadcast: television, film, and streaming productions.
  • Commercial & Institutional: brand campaigns, tourism boards, research projects, and educational initiatives.
  • Creative & Artistic: music videos, album covers, exhibitions, and installations.

Both still images and video clips are available for licensing. Permissions can range from a single use in an editorial publication to broader agreements that cover multiple platforms and longer periods of time, depending on how and where the material will be used.

Each request is reviewed on its own, so clients receive a clear proposal with fair pricing and only the rights they actually need. There are no rigid bundles or one size fits all packages. Terms are shaped around the project rather than forcing the project to fit a preset list of options.

Simple and direct process

  1. Inquiry: Send a message through the contact form describing the intended use (editorial, documentary, commercial, etc.) and the material required.
  2. Review: Marco will confirm availability and provide clear usage terms, including rights, duration and pricing.
  3. Delivery: Once approved, material is delivered by the preferred method, whether cloud link, agency transfer or private delivery.

For urgent newsroom use, Marco can supply ready-to-publish material with metadata and captions already embedded.
For long-form or documentary projects, licensing can cover extended use or global distribution rights, depending on scope and duration.

Subjects & coverage areas

Available content includes:

  • Volcanic activity: eruptions, lava flows, and post-eruption research (Iceland 2021–2025, Mt. Etna).
  • Icelandic landscapes: glaciers, lava fields, coastlines, highlands, and remote interior regions.
  • Human interaction: researchers, responders, and residents living within active or remote environments.
  • Aerial and time-lapse sequences: cinematic and documentary footage from both ground and drone operations.

Each image or clip is captured, edited, and color-graded personally if needed, maintaining a consistent visual and technical standard across all media.

Rights tailored to each project

All licenses are issued case-by-case to ensure fair use and value for both sides.
Pricing depends on:

  • Type of use (editorial, commercial, documentary, creative)
  • Duration and distribution area
  • Quantity of material licensed
  • Platform reach (broadcast, print, digital, or internal use)

Rates are quoted upon request after discussing the intended scope.
This structure offers maximum flexibility for clients while ensuring proper rights management and exclusivity when required.

Professional delivery and support

Licensed material can be delivered in the format and resolution that best fits the project, either as stills (JPEG or TIFF) or as video files in H.264 or H.265, including original camera files from Sony bodies (XAVC-based recording in standard MP4 or MXF wrappers) and new ALL-I codec of DJI drone systems.
Marco handles metadata, captions, and color accuracy personally when required, so that footage and stills arrive ready for editorial or post production use. Each license is accompanied by clear documentation that states the rights granted, the duration, and the platforms where use is permitted.
For production companies, he can also provide additional field footage or custom sequences through his videography services.
