Learn, explore, and photograph Iceland’s changing landscapes through guided field experiences.

Marco’s photography tours and workshops are designed for participants who want to experience Iceland’s landscapes through the camera in a serious but enjoyable way, combining field access, creative learning, and real-world practice. The aim is to spend time together in places where light, weather, and geology actually interact to create the best possible scenario, rather than just visiting viewpoints and moving on.

Each trip is led personally by Marco and keeps a balance between exploration and focused photographic work. Depending on the season and itinerary, programs can include active or recent volcanic zones, winter scenery along the coast, glaciers, waterfalls, lava fields, and the long light of summer nights. Time is built in for scouting, refining compositions, and working through different approaches in the same location, so participants can return home with both strong images and a clearer way of thinking in the field.

Programs are scheduled throughout the year in collaboration with licensed Icelandic travel partners, who handle the operational side under national tourism regulations.

This structure keeps logistics, safety, and legal requirements in professional hands while allowing Marco to concentrate fully on guiding the group photographically and managing decisions on light, timing, and locations.

Learn photography in the field

Each journey is built around real conditions and light rather than staged itineraries. Teaching happens directly in the field, with plans adjusted to weather, season, and the interests of the group. Whether someone is just starting or already experienced, they receive guidance on composition, exposure, and visual storytelling that matches their level and way of working.

Workshops place more emphasis on learning, feedback, and structured exercises, while photo tours focus on being in the right place at the right moment, with advice and mentoring available whenever it is needed.

Workshops and tours designed for every photographer

  • Photo Workshops: immersive multi-day experiences focused on technique, composition, and post-processing. Includes evening review sessions and optional editing demonstrations during downtime or when weather keeps the group indoors.
  • Photo Tours: travel based journeys built around timing, light, and location choice. The emphasis is on being in the right place at the right moment, with creative direction and practical field tips provided throughout the route.

All participants are encouraged to learn at their own rhythm. Teaching adapts to individual needs without rigid schedules or forced group exercises.

From glaciers to lava fields, all year round

Workshops and tours are scheduled across Iceland’s most photogenic regions:
the South Coast, Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Highlands, and active volcanic zones.
Winter programs place more weight on ice caves, auroras, low-angle light, and strong weather, while summer sessions are geared towards the Highlands, waterfalls, coastal geology, and the long evenings that allow more time on location.

Future itineraries will also include Italy’s volcanic regions, such as Etna and Stromboli, along with selected international destinations. Each trip is scheduled with attention to seasonal light, access conditions, and safety, so participants are on location when it matters most.

Operated with licensed travel partners

All logistics, including transport, accommodation, and on-road operations, are handled by certified Icelandic travel agencies that operate in full compliance with national tourism regulations. Marco’s role is to provide photographic instruction and field guidance throughout the trip.

Each participant receives pre-departure information, recommended gear lists, and on-site orientation to ensure safety and comfort in the field, plus online meetings before and after the tours to align expectations, discuss gear and logistics, and review images or questions once participants are back home.
